ABOUT US
Beacon Hill Beans started as a small group of us, with little experience and no more than a shared devotion to coffee. As an engineering student, most of my life consisted of intricate work spanning long hours; Of course my coffee addiction first began here, although merely as a productivity enhancer. The decision to take my engrossment in the plant to a professional level was first proposed shortly after I was hired onto the weekend crew at a local coffee shop. My experience here with other passionate customers and their takes on blends, coffee strains, etc., led me to develop an interest in the nuances of coffee beyond just caffeine content. I experimented with roasting techniques, studying regional flavor profiles, and learning from seasoned baristas and roasters. What started as curiosity quickly turned into a craft. Beacon Hill Beans was born out of this pursuit—not just to sell coffee, but to tell the story behind each bean. Today, we source responsibly, roast in small batches, and obsess over quality to deliver coffee that reflects both our roots and our relentless commitment to the perfect cup.
My coworkers and I, as we noticed the lack of freshness and reliability of our store's coffee, began to research the variety in flavor achievable through roasting and geographic origin. My first experience roasting beans was on a stovetop in a wok, and have since near-perfected my work small-scale commercial drum roaster, manually and tediously curating roast profiles for all selections of beans. I am proud to say that this business has transformed from just a hobby run from my dorm room, to a passion fulfilled with the help of my team in a dedicated production space. Today, this company remains a staple of my deep interest in the plant and as a circle of friends turned entrepreneurs.
We make it our top priority to provide to customers the best coffee they have ever and will ever try. We cater to your liking by offering all roast levels for every one of our blends and single origin roasts, as well as grinding to your preference, free of charge.
Our team aims to source only from the best of the best. As of now, we use local importers in the Boston area, who we have verified to have the highest quality beans. We also consider the growers, ensuring they are treated fairly and researching the import company in that fashion as well. A goal of ours is to visit every farm we source from. We hope to make our next trip to Ethiopia with your support. Please contact us for more information on the origin of our coffee beans.
Why choose us?
Our size may set us back in terms of reviews to base your purchases off of, and perfect prices; however, our dedication to the science of coffee is unmatched by our competitors. It has long been our dream to spread our love for the brew, and we hope to present such to you within this company.
We believe our personal connection to both the business and the process of roasting ourselves gives us an edge over the larger companies we all know and love; that is, we genuinely care about the product we are putting into your hands. Every order is roasted to the customer's specifications, and burr ground to their needs. We do not believe any blend or strain works 'best' at a certain roast, so we offer all roast levels for every one of our products.
The personal attachment to the company we hold can assure your purchases will contribute to the improvement of the communities we import from. We try our best to source beans from all regions through fair trade certification, and give you both visual and descriptive insight on the farms in the product description.
Any further questions regarding the origin location and well-being of such population may be forwarded to our team. We are happy to answer these questions, along with others you may have, from 10am - 10pm EST, 7 days a week via email at help@beaconhillbeans.com, or through our support form here.
